How important is it to you to reach your goals?

Are you a procrastinator sometimes?
Have you set goals that you never started working on?
Have you gotten started on a goal and never completed it?
How many things are on your “to do” list that have remained undone for longer than a week?
Do you ever carry around a “loser” image of yourself because you’ve repeatedly failed to complete a goal?

What impact would it make on your life if you could really stick to your goals and accomplish them, racking up wins? (And kiss that unhelpful “loser” image goodbye!)

In a study on goal-setting (almost 270 participants at the Dominican University in California), Psychology professor Dr. Gail Matthews found that you are forty-two percent more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down. Writing your goals down not only forces you to get clear on  exactly what you want to accomplish, it also adds motivation to complete the steps or tasks required for success.

When you take the time to write (or type) your goals, you’re more likely to also strategize, to self-assess your current progress, and  to create a plan of action.

Writing your goals will increase your odds of meeting them, but that’s not all you can do to accelerate your progress to achieving your goals and racking up WINS…

In a study on accountability and goals, the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) found that you have a sixty-five percent chance of completing a goal if you commit to someone about meeting your goal. And, if you have a specific accountability appointment with a person you’ve committed to, you will increase your chance of success by up to ninety-five percent.

When you work alone (I know this from personal experience), often you’re the only one who knows your goals. Even using some of the accountability tools or software available today can be ineffective, because you know there’s not a real person you’re making a commitment to, so you skate past your commitment….hello, Fitbit?

When you’ve got a boss, a coach or an accountability partner, you write down and commit to your goals, and because you’ve got to report to them at a specific time, you get it done. Your WINS grow! You become the WINNER you’ve been wanting to be, like my clients!

By offering accountability I’ve helped my clients accomplish literally countless goals. Goals like:
• Hire top performing employees
• Take a vacation for the first time in years
• Double my company’s profitability
• Get my dream job
• Change careers
• Get my company into new markets
• Start my business
• Make new friends after my move
• Enroll in training for a new job
• Write my first book
• Start a nonprofit organization
• Engage my team
• Improve communications
• Design a new training program for employees
• Deepen relationships with my adult children
• Reach my desired level of fitness
• Reconcile with family
• Be confident in a new role

These are just a few goals my clients have attained, and as you can see, the sky’s the limit to what you can accomplish when you write your goals and are accountable!

My mission is to help as many women as possible, and their male allies, to create their best future by design. Next week is International Coaching Week, and since I really want to celebrate the WINS of hundreds more business owners who are creating their best future and crushing their goals, I decided to launch a brand new accountability coaching program during International Coaching Week. It’s called W.I.N.S! — Weekly Inspiration Network for Success ™.

Most of my clients are one-to-one or group coaching clients. Many have told me that they would like a coach, and would appreciate the accountability and support and believe it would help them reach more goals, but feel it’s beyond what they can afford. For this reason I decided to create the WINS! accountability coaching program to be highly affordable, a fraction of the cost of my regular one-to-one and group programs. In fact, for those who are willing to share the secret, they can get this program for FREE! Just click to learn more about W.I.N.S! — Weekly Inspiration Network for Success ™.

But whether you join the WINS! accountability coaching program, or you simply start by writing your goals and finding an accountability partner, I encourage you to take advantage of these WIN-boosting ideas today!
