Today I attended the final day of Steve Harrison’s Publishing and Publicity Workshop, where I worked on developing and moving forward toward my vision of Life Beyond #MeToo, a world that is free from sexual harassment and violence.

The workshop attracted a powerful group of authors, coaches, and game-changers who strongly believe in their visions and who are committed to success. So are you, or you wouldn’t be reading this.

I promised Steve I will never share his awesome content, and I’m not going to do that. But I will tell you that, in addition to learning all Steve’s trade secrets, I met at least a dozen individuals who will stay connected and continue to cheer me on as I work towards my vision, and whom I’ll be cheering on as they finish and launch their books and online programs and speaking tours and more. I also took over 40 pages of notes, and I made a list of 52 things I need to do now to follow up so I get the greatest value from my investment.

I’d like to share three ways to grow your success, all which I’ve known at least forty years, all which were again reinforced for me by attending this fabulous event:

  1. Be open to connect with others at a heart level.  The level of authentic self-revelation that you’re open to giving and receiving is the measure of the depth of your relationships. I’m not suggesting you gush all your issues out on any unsuspecting passerby. But there often are opportunities to go deeper with someone. If you remain open to connect at these deeper levels, you may find that the person who you thought little of actually can add tremendous value to you. And vice versa. Success doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
  2. Never stop learning. Know your learning style and modalities and engage them as fully as you can (without disrupting others) in order to cement as much learning as you can. For me, that means listening, talking and taking notes. Decide to learn at least one new thing every day. When you stop learning, you stop growing success. And, finally,
  3. Execute, execute, execute. What’s your big hairy audacious goal? What action steps are you taking to make it happen? This workshop will have been a waste of my money and time if I don’t do the 52 things on my list. My past effort isn’t enough to build future success, it must be  followed by current effort.
  4. Ok, I said three, you’re right. So this is really not another step, but a call to action. Let me close by encouraging you to do the three steps outlined above, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. Reach out to me (or someone) fearlessly and be willing to go deeper, commit to learning something new today (and tell me what it is!), and jump on it! If you need help or accountability from a coach, set up a free strategy session. What are you waiting for? Success is closer than you know.
